BRITNEY OFFERS RARE REMARKS AT CONSERVATORSHIP HEARING: I AM ANGRY

Britney Spears has finally spoken her truth about her 13-year conservatorship, and it comes as a surprise to no one that she wants out– out of the conservatorship, out of the care appointments as they are currently structured, and out of paying for the man she likens to being a "sex trafficker."

Appearing remotely for the hearing, she called the situation “abusive" and recounted a number of ways the conservatorship is excessive in its control of her life. Far from merely controlling her finances and medical care - apparently, she hasn't even been allowed to pick the color of her kitchen cabinets.

  • And while she's posted videos saying she's "happy," Spears admitted she's anything but. “I’m not happy. I’m so angry it’s insane, and I’m depressed. I cry every day,” she shared. The way she sees it, the state of California only hired people – using her money – to complicate her life.
  • Although she claims she was great during rehearsals for her canceled Las Vegas residency, her manager told her that she wasn’t on her meds and "wasn’t cooperating." She says a disagreement about choreography even landed her in a psych ward. As for having the show cancelled, she was like having two hundred pounds lifted off her.
  • Days later, the doctor put her on lithium, which made her "feel drunk." Spears said that when she complained to her family about it - no one would help her. “Not only did my family not do a goddamn thing, my dad [Jamie Spears] was all for it,” she said. “Anything that happened to me had to be approved by my dad.” He acted like he didn’t know what was going on, but he “loved the control he had” over her. She even recounted a phone call in which she says she cried "for over an hour" and says her father "enjoyed it."
  • When it came to her therapy, she wants to do it from home. Instead, she was forced to go into areas where she's “exposed” to paparazzi.
  • She also wanted to have her IUD removed so she could have another baby, but the team wouldn’t allow it.
  • Finally, she wasn’t aware that she had the right to petition to end the conservatorship and apologized for her ignorance. Her court-appointed attorney, Samuel Ingham III, said he’d do whatever she wanted him to do.

After a recess, Judge Brenda J Penny complimented Spears. "I just want to commend you again for really stepping forward and stepping out to have your thoughts heard," she noted. "Not only myself but everyone involved in the case.” Meanwhile, Jamie’s attorney shared a message from him saying, “He is sorry to see his daughter suffering and in so much pain. He loves his daughter and misses her very much.”

  • This might be the last time we get to hear what Britney has to say. According to her lawyer, she’d like to have the proceedings sealed going forward.
  • Naturally, a lot of people had opinions on what went on. Check out their comments HERE.

DRAKE BELL OFFERS GUILTY PLEA IN CHILD ENDANGERMENT CASE

I previously reported that Drake Bell was indicted on two charges involving a minor. The “Drake & Josh” star appeared in a virtual hearing in Ohio yesterday, where he pled guilty to both charges.

To recap, Bell is in trouble over an incident at a Cleveland nightclub back in 2017. A 15-year-old girl claims she and Bell developed a relationship years prior, meeting him at one of his concerts. Prosecutors allege Bell “violated his duty of care” and “created a risk of harm to the victim” at the concert, and sent the minor inappropriate social media messages leading up to the event.

Appearing via Zoom, Bell pled guilty to the fourth-degree felony of attempted endangering children, as well as the first-degree misdemeanor of disseminating matter harmful to juveniles. He’s facing up to 18 months behind bars on the felony charge, and will be sentenced in July.
